Peter Leone

Peter Leone has been in the professional liability market for nearly 34 years. During that time he has held various positions from VP of Claims of New Jersey's largest medical malpractice carrier to COO of a start up malpractice carrier. Peter is now the Program Director for The Academic Group a new and innovative Medical Malpractice carrier based in New York, but also covering physicians in New Jersey.
 
Peter has sat on two Governor's medical malpractice task forces, created the first fraud unit in malpractice designed to protect doctors from patients who exaggerate their claims , and he also formed the first litigation support group to assist physicians experiencing the trauma of the "courtroom." Peter has been a contributing Editor to MD NEWS and Health Guide and has also appeared in feature articles in Money Magazine and Medical Economics. He is well known in the industry a stanch advocate of physicians and their causes.
